We designed a questionnaire to use as the basic materials for the position of Medical Technologist(MT) in the hospital and exposure of infection in the Clinical Electrophysiologic Laboratory. Also, it will be used to eliminate medical services of the unlicensed in the Clinical Electrophysiologic Laboratory. The contents of the questionnaire, performed from 29, January to 15, March 2002, are about a working period of an MT in the Clinical Electrophysiologic Laboratory, one¡¯s place, one¡¯s opinion about a professional MT and one¡¯s infection control. In working conditions 57.8% work in only one laboratory, 39.4% in rotation in one department and the rest (2.8%) cycle between all. In the necessity of a professional MT, most of the people are positive (95.4%). About a professional MT in each field, 84.4% of the subjects gave their approval. In their position, 67.9% of the subjects are under the control of Clinical Services, 22% in the Clinical Electrophysiologic Laboratory and others (10.1 %) belong to the department of Clinical pathology. All PFfs, ECGs, and EEGs are examined by the MT but in case of TCDs (59.7%) and TMTs (71.6%) most of the examinations are performed by a licensed or non-MT (doctor, nurse). In case of infection control, most of the hospitals (96.6%) have a Committee of Infection Control. According to the questionnaire, in most hospitals, the unlicensed or non- MTs are engaged in the Clinical Electrophysiologic Laboratory. Also, in the field of labor, infection control is neglected and there is not preventable instructions about it. Thus we should make every effort continuously to minimize infection and improve working conditions.
